Q: Why is blowing your nose into a tissue perceived as rude?
I was happily blowing my nose into a tissue when one of my work colleagues told me that doing that in public was considered rude in China. Did they just not want to hear me blow my nose or is there some underlying reason why it is perceived as being rude?

I think it is considered wasteful when you have a perfectly good other way of doing the same thing. Of course you will also mess up the environment when you throw the tissue on the street.

Do it with your fingers and blow it in a garbage or just in the street, it will be considered completely alright
