Some of the most prolific expat posters are he worst spellers. Why are the Chinese members so much better at spelling English words?
In the west its not important as long as the reader understand you. Chinese never make spelling errors in Chinese and see how important it is to spell perfect
I wish my students (when I was a teacher) were good at spelling. They spelled atrociously!
But to answer your question: I think some of the most prolific expat posters are people who also know English as only a second (or sometimes third) language.
do chinese have spelling ...... [hahaha] the spelling mistaken are done by the guys who have learned english as second or third language... or those do not have a strong base in english.. the native guys its their mother language or can be secondary language so they do not make mistakes... but spelling have got its rules so even those every one can not remember every word with it correct spelling ........ so untill you can understand it so go with it but spelling are important in written language so i think expat shall pay attention whenever they writing..
have impression ladies and gentlemen.........
The Chinese learn English grammatically, even if their pronunciation and speaking is horrible. Their writing is memorized, they spend an unsurmountable number of hours repeating the same thing over and over again. It's a large reason why English speaking in regards to Chinese can be a struggle to say the least. They live by grammar to pass their Jon Kou and Gou Kou, not only that the English they've learned is British English from a century ago. I'm not British but I do enjoy the accents and have never had a problem understanding British pronounciation" except some friends from Liver Pool and Wales", yet when I meet some Chinese with British accents, it's so strong I have no idea what they're saying, I ask, did you study in England, they say no, our Chinese teachers taught us like this. Bilinguals are funny, before I became a legal advisor and subject teacher, I taught ESL at a University for future English teachers. Oh my my, it's no wonder why China needs foreigners so badly, even the ones with fake degrees or no teaching experience, these bilinguals except a small few are just horrible lazy English speakers, they do not accept advise and will argue with a Native Speakers pronunciation. Glad I'm away from that these days.
