This winds me up, every time I'm trying to dry/straighten my hair, the plug falls out of the socket. I'm sure if I ever used an iron or a hoover the same would happen. Is it just me? Grr!

You might want to use 'plug multiplier':

Any electrical store in China carries them from 30 - 70 Rmb a piece.
BHGAL:
I probably bought 10 of them things ... BS ... ..global kind of guy that I am
bigger question ...why in the f**k can't hey be worldly genetic.....I know every engineer likes to put his own little twist on a bridge design ..... but damn it, it is a why can't we have a normal plug in for a tv or a hair dryer?
A small twisting of the prongs on the plug will help keeping them into the socket. Sort of a trial and error adjustment. Does work for me.
china makes quality plugs for export all over the world, they work fine but the cheap crap gets sold to their own people, that says more than i could ever eloquently elaborate.
once at an english school, they installed a large ac unit and the workers scraped the insulation and put the wires directly in the plug on the wall, rather than a socket to plug in the wall, the result is a dedicated socket that cant be used for anything else and why waste money on a socket.
they call this clever.
one of my students went to canada and bought her books and returned them 3 days later for a refund and copied every page at a copy print shop, this is clever also.
so many clever people , they must rule the world.
