Q: Why is Chinese beer low in alcohol?
Yeah, just expect it to be around 3%. For nights of heavy drinking, your be full of liquids before you are actually drunk.
could be a weak strain of yeast along with lack of concern to improve due to customer compliance.
Probably because Chinese people drink so much and it keeps them from being hammered all the time. That's what I'd like to think instead of believing it's shameless profiteering on the part of the manufacturer by watering down the booze.
I think it must be the law. The highest percentage you can find is 4.7% (Heineken), although if you can find a store with imported food you can usually find German beer at 5%.
The good Tsing Toa beer is 4.3%....not that bad.
How high is not low?
I thought beer is all most the same, only bai jiu has different level...
GoldenBoy:
Because 5 - 8 % is normal for foreigners and 2 - 3 % is normal for you.
Different people bodies metabolize alcohol from different sources differently.
Chinese people dont process hops based alcohol very well. Kinda like we get shit faced on baijiu pretty quick. If the beer here were as strong as it is back home people wouldnt be able to handle it and would get sick easily drinking it.
