its hard to imagine these things, but i have seen it too..
it might be lack of education, or she has nothing to lose...
in China, if you don't have money, you don't have a life...
some are just getting married with these foreigners to get green card to live abroad, because they know that people respect each other more in other countries and obviously life is a lot better..
i have seen prostitutes fighting between themselves to get laid with a fat ugly white old man... believing that the man is their way out of china ticket... can u imagine?
i know a good friend of mine, he got married here... both of them are highly educated (with phd), parents of the women is so rich, they even bought the couple  a luxury apartment as wedding gift....
my friend told me that when he met her fiancee's parents, they asked questions mostly about how much you own and how much you make....

I think it depends on where you are and where you go to meet women, there are gold diggers out there. However not all Chinese are like that. I have been married for five years and my wife is not like that at all, if anything she is the opposite, I have to convince her we have enough money to do what we want. A friend of mine in England has his wife living with him and he earns poor money, she knew this from day one and still married him, even though he does not own a house, has little money and drives a 14 year old car. Women here do look for security and maybe they and their families are sometimes more up front about it than we are used to, but that doesn't mean it cannot work or that she is with you only for the money. Parents want to make sure their child is going to have a better life than they have probably had  and that the man is, for want of a better word, honourable in his intentions. After all if she marries a foreigner she may go back home with him and they may not see for a long time.  You just have to be careful with the one you pick. Another friend in England treated his wife well, took her travelling etc., but she left as soon as she recieved her indefinite stay visa for the UK.  As I say just be careful, but there are plenty of good ones out there.

You aswered your own question, for them money and power derived from having money, is the most important priority.  In a way it is a bit stupid, because if they care for money so much, they should make absolutely sure that the goose that lays the golden eggs is happy and lives a long life.  But they are too egotistical and self centered to realize that.

Why do you think, as a main reason, for a girl in her 20's to look at a man on his 60"s.  Have you ever heard of "sugar daddies" ?

Not all Chinese girls though, some doesnt care about money and care much about their partners i know some nice Chinese girls. But my workmate, he married a Chinese girl and askd him a dowry, a 3bhk apartment, a car and money. He sold all his property in his country and gave everything for the girl he love so much not knowing what will happen after. After a year of their marriage the girl decided to divorce him left him nothing. :(

Not all girls are like this, but the ones that are, are more likely to hang around where expats are and more likely to interact with said laowai. So what we see of the population is skewed towards these money loving girls.  If you want to find a normal lady, don't look for here in places that golddiggers hunt.  Try some starting a conversation with a young lady at some random place like a local vegetable market.

That's why chinese are slave of money , no love no emotion this is rule of live in this land.

Actually the one who can find his true love needs a certain time before you choose she as ur wife,so I would like to stay with her to examine whether she loves me more than my money or the oppostie..
Nowadays in China,it's quite normor for girls to get married unless u have a certain and enough fortune to support ur daily life,especially one own house..Chinese men have much more pressure than before.
