Q: Why do all Chinese have big vaccination marks on their arms?

Top of the arm, just below the shoulder...they all have a big, circular vaccination mark. Sometimes two. Why is that? I don't have them...and I don't know anyone in my circle of friends, family who have them.

In many countries TB is very rare due to a rigorous testing and treatment program carried out many years ago. TB is very common though in China and as a result all Chinese and also people from many other countries must undergo a chest x-ray before being allowed to migrate or stay in Australia for extended period of time.  I don't think the mark would be an inoculation for TB as it is treated with long term antibiotics (min 6 months course) but may be a result of the skin test that is used to confirm if the TB is active or not.

Older people in Australia have the "pock mark" as it is known on their arm as a result of smallpox vaccinations but they were stopped around the 60's as smallpox was eradicated by the vaccination program I believe.

Ok just a hunch but the marks may look big becoz their arms may look small. But other than that I'm not sure what you are talking about it could have been a dream. You did say ALL and I haven't run into 10 people a day that ALL have a vaccination shot that is really BIG!!!
