Q: Why do Chinese eat ice cream in the winter time?

It is cold, so cold now, and yet I see many Chinese continue to eat ice cream and popsicles. Even too, McDonald's walk by window is selling soft cone ice cream. What is up with that thing?

Maybe because ICE CREAM ROCKS.... I had one yesterday. (ok, it's 20C here)

The concept of eating something cold to get through a hot day hasn't really broken though in China. As ice cream is not a traditional thing, like A/C, heating and other modern inventions. They are not controlled by the highly regimented behavioral patterns of Chinese society.

Funny thing about eating ice cream in winter. I see it, too. In the States, in England, in Spain, in France, in Italy, in Russia, and various and sundry countries that just happen not to be China. So what is the question? Really?
