Perfume or cologne? If you're wearing perfume, I don't think Chinese women will be the only women who find you to be strange, unless you're intentionally trying to be more feminine.

Because it is strange, men don't wear perfume. Nice try though, China.

Cologne, aftershave, mouthwash, deoderant....these things are strange to Chinese women as most men here smell worse than pigs, almost never shower, wear dirty smelly clothes, don't brush their teeth and have not the foggiest notion what deoderant is.

rich45:

i had a girl over to my apartment once. she saw a deodorent i had on bath room, she asked me what it was. i told her. fter she looked at me and said. "is it healthy?"

It is difficult to find aftershave in China. I use toner from Watson's. They also carry deodorant. I always bring back a big bottle of Old Spice from the States - it lasts for a few months.

Old Spice! Wow that is prehistoric in terms of after-shave, I haven't worn that since I was a teenager (and that was more than a couple of years ago) when I thought I'd be cool and splash some on my genitals, (I thought I was on a promise).

That is a mistake you only ever make once! cool

GuilinRaf:

OUCH!

I made the same mistake when I was young too, only I used "Aqua Velva"...cool

Gillette after-shave & deodorant all the way...bring from home. Cologne, perfume? (leave that for the Italians...that and pink & purple scarves)

GuilinRaf:

Hispanic Latinos use it too!

Anyway, the pink and purple scarves crack made me smile, so you get a thumbs up.

My gf does not like it very much either(and her friends).

I have over a dozen bottles of great cologne: Prada, Issey Miyake, Hermes, Chanel, Cartier, D-Squared, etc, and she only likes one of them. I only use one spray every time too.

Laggerfeld for men, Polo, Horizon before it was discontinued, etc....

Maybe they are great, but I have lost my interest in buying new bottles of cologne. The ones I have will last me for the next 10 years.

I have a few cool "colognes" but my wife doesn't like any of them.

Do you suppose they like that "au natural Chinese guy aroma". Yikes!
