Its the whole idea of communal property. Even though people are more likely to own their own stuff now there is this idea of whats mine is yours. The intense idea of property we have in the west just doesn't exist here.
and technically, they aren't hurting it, and aren't likely to. Its our western ideas of ownership that drive us up the wall. Though I'll never LIKE it or get used to it, I kinda gotta side with the Chinese on this one. Its a nice place to sit.
Well...I don't know what they're thinking, nothing probably. I suggest carrying a spray bottle full of water. Spray any stranger that sits on your bike, that will teach them.

So has trying to train a Chinese person like you would a cat actually worked for you? (Count down still this gets deleted for either the animal metaphor or for pointing out how admin cat could be trained :P )

Well, I think that they hate the rain. Combine that with the fact that anyone would be shocked to be sprayed with water, it will probably work. Probably.
Offer to take their photo while they sit on the bike, get their email address or QQ and offer to send them the photo for 50 Y. Make a business out of it. Take advantage! Charge them to sit there! have sign you can put on he bike when you leave it parked. "Sit on foreigner's bike. 50Y"
Maybe they want to steal it! I always have somebody trying to sit on or hug my Ebike, maybe it smells good!! They never seem to sit on the Chinese peoples bikes!
