Q: Why do Chinese women expect so much?

I don't get the whole thing about Chinese women all acting like little dolls that need to be cared for, pampered, etc...

It just seems like the trend here is for women to act like girls...helpless, cute, demanding, sulking, etc...I mean seriously, why can't they be a little more independent?

We're not your caretakers.

I think this is a big social problem that's going to continue to get worse in China.

I see a lot of marriages in China that are nothing more than a business relationship. It's not true love at all. Basically the deal is the man pays for everything and in exchange the women makes the man look good by having a wife and kids.

A serious problem I see with this is the number of men in China who now struggle too get a wife. Good honest hard working men who would make great husbands but end up single simply because they don't have enough money.  This causes many people to snap and I do believe it will lead to more cases of people raping and abusing women as a result.

As far as why this is the case in China. There's many reasons but I think the unbalanced ratio of women to men plays a big part. Simple supply and demand, the price goes up when the supply is lower.

i am a chinese girl, because of the working situation/ invironment, i need to get in touch with many foreigners. i like foreigner, they independent, humors, polite, except one thing: they are short of family concept and high divorce rate, regardless of this element, i prefer marriage a foreigner man to be frankly.

Eh, I actually think the divorce rate is indicative of a greater family concept. Better to divorce than spend years in a false marriage where daddy has mistresses stashed all over the city and sneaks off to prostitutes all the time,  and mommy knows, but likes daddy's money so much that she will spend it all day and behave passive aggressively in front of the kid, who's sole reason for existence is to be a retirement plan for the happy parents.

Westerners are just honest about the family.

A:No, I wasn't saying Trudeau is a doctor. I'm forgetting this is a forum read by people with differing levels of English ability - my bad - I know the use of analogies can confuse some people so for those readers who somehow think my point was about Trudeau being a doctor I'll re-phrase it. 1. There's an emergency situation requiring action to deal with that emergency. 2. Someone (Trudeau in this case, acting under the advice of medical professionals) takes action, it's not convenient for anyone but there isn't a choice, something has to be done to stop the emergency becoming even worse. 3. The actions seem to work, the emergency situation is contained for now but there's no way of knowing if it's permanent, or if the emergency situation will become a serious threat again. 4. Trudeau tells people it's safe to ease back on those actions now, but if the emergency situation does become serious a threat again they may need to take action again to deal with it. 5. For extra clarity.....   * emergency situation ; in this case refers to the covid pandemic.   * action ; refers to covid measures. This seems like a simple, common sense process to me and one that could be (and is) applied to most emergency situations.   -- Stiggs
