Q: Why do I never see the noisy bugs?

I hear these critters,, every day, all day, it seems...............  but I never see them. Must be a gazillion of them for the sound they make.............  cicada or cricket ?

It's because they use camouflage and hide in the grass or someplace that you can't find them or see them.

Climb a tree and hunt one. They look like really big flies. I've only seen the dead ones that crash land or fall down while sleeping.

Those noisy locust things (I don't know what their specific names are) are actually huge. I had one dive down on my face once (no idea why) and I was surprised at how big they are.
