Q: Why do many job ads here ask for various things but provide no way to submit those things?

Like the ads that want to see pictures, or scans of TESOL certificates or degrees, passports, etc.  They don't provide an email address, and when you click the apply button the only options you have are to give them a resume compiled on this site, and a cut and paste cover letter... is this a red flag for a bad company?  Because there seems to be a lot!

You'll find that many places here ask for lots of things in advance, but once you are there all of that stuff really doesn't matter at all. I think it's a way of making themselves look professional is all it is.

I just send them Cover letter with my contact info. I also ask them to reply to my email address.

Most of the time I get replies, where I am able to send my Resume and credentials.

what are you 12? you can't figure out that you can send them a cover letter/ message and ask them to contact you to receive you docs?

willstevenson:

I wish I was 12.  Unfortunately I am considerably older and wise enough that to me, what you pointed out is so obvious that it's not worth mentioning.  I asked my question because OBVIOUSLY sending your basic info then getting an email address from them to send more stuff just adds an extra step to the process, and it doesn't make sense to me that they ask for the extra documents in their job advertisement at a time when you have to way of providing them.  Why are you the only one who needs their hand held and walked through this thought process?
