Cuz 'no child be left behind' policees that giv big cents of entitlement to underachivurs.

Cuz gramma doesnt mattur (reely, i donot write liek this inna the classroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

'cus, like, I was, like, born in the 90s, like, y'know. I C U L8R LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See the 90s generation thread for more of the same. It's embarrassing that a lot of "native" English speakers can no longer speak/read/write "native" English.

And, to seek extra "thumbs down" mileage, when people ask me why I'm here in China, I respond by saying, "I'm here to teach British and Aussies how to speak English."

MissA:

'gramma doesn't matta' - I had a bunch of students ask me yesterday, in all seriousness, if it was really important that they use the right preposition when speaking - and was it really necessary to use articles. They're an IELTS class!

Like Sinobear said, they write poorly because they don't actually know how to write, or speak for that matter. Dang maybe I should post an ad there.

I'm surprised the consensus here seems to be that this guy is a native. I don't know how bad schools are in some places but, really.....surely nobody could be that bad?

Half of my intermediate-level students write better than that!

Perhaps not a native-speaker and if a native speaker, perhaps an uneducated one.  There's a lot of that flavor around here, too.  I once worked with British telephone repairman from London who came to China and metamorphosed into the DOS of a highly respectable school and his English was dreadfully cockney and his grammar was dreadfully illiterate.

I am not a Native American nor an opportunist. My spoken and written English are decent, and this was according to my American employer. About the question above, probably that English teacher is not a real English teacher (regardless of nationality)or maybe he/she asked a Chinese associate to advertise and look for possible clients for the "English teacher". Or maybe it is a Chinese competitor.

The English in that advertising reminds me of the 'article' one of my former schools wrote about me, (without either consulting me, or asking me), in that they stated that I held a "PhD in 'Psichology'" (whatever that is).  Perhaps that 'advert' was placed by a Chinese friend or colleague without the persons knowledge?

P.S. I don't hold a PhD in anything.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
