Q: Why do some men have a sharpened talon for their thumb nail?
I get the pinky-nail... part fashion statement, part class/status symbol.
But I don't get the talon? Surely it does much more damage to themselves - and those around them - than having any perceived benefit??

They can use it to scratch somebody's eyes out if they ever get into a fight.

I recall it was to do with sexuality. Similar to the western custom of wearing keys on a belt clip. I am probably wrong. But most of the guys I see with the long nail are hairdressers.
hi2u:
Are you saying the western culture of wearing keys on a belt clip is sexual? Some Chinese say that's a peasant habit.
