Q: Why do some subway commuters hang their bags from the handle?

Likewise, why do most commuters stand with their back to a pole. Even if I hang onto it because I need to hang onto something in the subway, the person will still not move - even though my knuckles are now dragging across their back.

Do I need to say something like, "Hi, I'm a commuter who needs to use this pole/handle for the way it was intended, can you allow me to do that?"

I'd say, Chinese will choose and look especially for a native English speaker at teaching of English Literature job openings.
