Suffice to say, numbers is not all she seemed - or to put it another way, she was exactly what half the regulars here accused her of being: a total fake.
Because she was a member of the Chinese media that came here specifically make a few pennies per post to put out the party line. She was then caught threatening the mod, afterwards she was publicly outed she was banned.
Oh, one other thing to point out here, Chenhan.
Posters like yourself, Chinese people who openly and, as far as I can tell, honestly come here to share your perspectives on China, are actually much more helpful than posters like 981.
why bother brother? you can volunteer to click the thumbs up for her/ him everyday. In that way she'll/ he'll get more likes and you don't need to wonder. If i can only click the buttons twice or more, i will make you proud.
Numbers wrote claims about ITs self that were just too too fake. I don't like liars. While IT did write some good articulate answers, I'm sure many of these were googled and IT answered almost every post. IT also was too critical of others and was a source of constant thumbs down. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who gives thumbs down if I get them every post. Numbers made ITself so unliked that no one wants to even read ITs answers.
Matty also makes fake claims to be American. I take take BS when its a joke, but not just to be constantly lying.

It turned out she was really a Wu Mao working for the People's Daily. I am not joking, this was proven when you were away.

Hi chenhan. I too am a bit confused by this whole situation. the 981 person often answered questions I'd asked or others asked (where can I find xyz thing). I thought that was very helpful. And I gave him thumbs up on these responses.
But then on other questions, he would become very aggressive, which made other people very aggressive. Or vice versa. Who knows at this point.
I don't really care either way. I'm just glad the board has calmed down since then. And like the other users, I really appreciate your calm demeanor and perspective on things here! You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.
I never thought it was a mistake that 981 sent the message to kchur, and it appears admin had some reason to ban kchur, along with 981, for the whole farcical episode. Maybe they were the same person. It was kchur who made the magical revelation that 981 was a woman. Not sure how he knew that. Who knows, and who cares?
981 was entertaining, in a bizarre sort of way, for the sheer stupidity of some of the answers, which I suspect were deliberately posted to stir people up. Seems to have worked, and continues to work.
