They don't even wear helmets on scooters and rarely on moter bikes.
Back in Canada bike helmet laws have only been around for about 7-8 years, and only in major cities. I think they have worse things to worry about here, granted I have yet to see an accident here involving a bike.
I grew up around bike gangs, got my first bike when I was a teen. There were no helmet laws then. I didn't like being forced to wear one. After some of my friends had brain injuries and I've skidded down roads on my head, I'm all for wearing a lid. China just does not have the law mandating wearing helmets. Also kids get serious head injuries from bicycle accidents, so kids are mandated to wearing helemts. Sometimes laws serve good causes.
about 3 weeks ago I got an E bike and I take my son to kindergarten on it,we just got bike helmets.
no one cares about anyone on the roads and the amount of times I have almost been knocked off.
you can fix broken bones but you cant fix a brain if it gets damaged.
I really dont understand why parents wont get there child a helmet.

My parents could never made me wear helmet.
My pop demanded I put helmet on always when on sled, 'cause I refused to sit. I laid down ..... for less air disturbances.

I was like 2y old, and my mom asked: 'why did they pull-out this aged thread?'
There are two reasons for not wearing a helmet:
1] it costs money
2] Chinese bodies are different and thus heads, too.
