You hit the nail on the head in your last sentence. Western women in general (of course there are exceptions) are not as demanding when it comes to material possessions. Western women marry out of love. They'd rather live in squalor and be happy with the man they love than live in a luxury mansion with a toad they have no feelings for.

Happiness is more important than money. That's why many Chinese-foreign relationships don't work out. Many foreign women fall utterly in love with Chinese men, but the men are with them for the comfortable lifestyle. It's not just Chinese women who are gold diggers; Chinese men are just as bad. But of course, it's always the women who get the bad rep.

We do still live in sexist world after all - let's not deny it. Equal rights? Only in our imaginations maybe.

I'm sure that even you SciFiBri are a man because you too associate women as materialistic gold diggers by only thinking of those examples. Yes there are gold diggers in the world, but actually most women just demand to be loved and respected. Quite that, although men and foreign women on this website r talking about Chinese women, in fact most men think most women r the same. Like guys in my office, dating non-Chinese come to the office alway with a story like how much they paid for dinner and feel like being used as a check payer……

Well the reason which i can think about is confidences and boldness. language problem. chinese boys sometimes do miss understand chinese girls with her behaviour and attire so if they are foreigner maybe it will take him more time to understand them completely....on the other hand can be finanical as well.

for the following reasons :
- chinese people dosn't search for love, they believe its destiny and hope to find it someday.
- there are very few foreigners of female sex
-most of the foreigners are relatively aged
- their body stature distracts chinese guys .most of the foreign women are fat( in comparison to chinese)

I agree with most of those points.

-The foreign girls who are in china most often are not interested in learning chinese and have little to no proficiency of the language

-Foreign girls are bigger and taller usually than the average chinese man

-Chinese men grow up around super cutesy, ultra sissy acting girls, while foreign girls are msot often independent and opinionated so may seem lewd or obnoxious and masculine

-I think it's true chinese people don't search for love they might search for sex in the short term and for someone suitable for their marriage in the long term

-It's just easier for them to stick with what they know

I have to say in Guangzhou there are MANY fine looking foreign women, not fat by any stretch, great body, nice figure, great looking creamy white skin... Bottom line... There in most cases more successful than most local men, they don't put up with shit (or bad manners), and they expect a man to look and act like a man... I think it may just intimidate local men. Truth be told...
