Q: why dont things ever change here for the better?

I live in Shenzhen and seems it just gets worse being here,The driving gets worse, people just dont  care about there fellow man.

The city gets bigger more and more buildings going up but the people just dont change with the city. Why cant Shenzhen adopt some of  the way things are done in Hong Kong?

I seem to be very negative about this place at the moment,I like staying at home most of the time.just trying to get to work every morning with my son and  something always happens,

School holidays soon maybe i just need a break.

5000 years of civilisation! No need to change! Change is bad! Change is western imperialists trying to tell us what to do!!!! China does NOT need to deal with other outsiders.... All others must change to OUR ways!

The funny part about the whole "5000 years of culture" claim is that it is a shared national MYTH.  There is only evidence for 3400 years.

Technology is advancing faster than society among Mainlanders.

Scandinavian:

Sure, won't argue with that. But does the mainlanders adopt new technology or are they only now adopting 100 year old techs, such as refrigeration and cars.... if they could skip a step to driverless cars that would be something, but they cannot because they are not forward thinkers, they are copycats who just wants material goods.
