Q: Why is the front page of this site so out of date

On the front page of this site in prominent position is a "Whats New in Nanning" section. The first three articles are all out of date, referring to events back in March, and here we are almost into July. The fourth article is about Nannings shopping malls and has been in the whats new section for ever and a day. Is it simply that the site admin are not doing their job properly and keeping it up to date, sorry guys no insults intended, or is it just that we live in a boring city where very little that is new ever happens.

noI think you just answered it. It's probably not up to date yet. I don't read too many of the articles on here to notice it. I guess you did and you also pointed out the obvious. (Drunk!

He he, I said: "notice"!

Honestly, I lived in Guanxi for four years (Guilin,  not Nanning), and not much happens there.

If they eliminated the news from march, the Nanning section would be in blanc.

I'm not even going to mention my city (as if you didn't know). I believe they are looking for people to write and report from cities that don't have a lot happening. I wouldn't mind doing it for my city but just can't see myself traipsing around all parts of the city trying to chat to locals that might have interesting businesses or exciting personal lives (???) and having to do it with an interpreter. But sure as hell I wouldn't mind finding some hot night spots and seedy KTV's on which to do stories.

"Hey, I'm writing a story for a local newspaper. Show me how a happy ending doesn't constitute illegal prostitution!!" (Wink, wink, nudge nudge.)

Nanning is a city of 6 million. Surely there must be something going on. Zhuhai is just a spec of dust (and car exhaust) and has multiple stories from 2013. It truly is exciting here.

Actually a couple of times, some of the blog posts written by people this site could qualify as proper stories that could be posted to the news sections, provided the subjects are relevant.

On the contrary, I find the news on there to be well up to date and "finger on the pulse" stuff. I was shocked to read about Chairman Mao zedong's recent death on there. I wonder what implications that could have in China?

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
