Q: Why is height such a big deal in China?

I personally don't care if people call me small (I am - not like I can hide it), but Chinese friends of mine bristle immediately if I mention their height. Why is height such a big deal here?

usually , the chinese man don't like his girlfriend or wife higher than himself. if you much height than you friends( especially to male ) that would make him feel "lost face".
