I just came back from the theater and I am quite shocked. They censored some scenes, mostly death scenes. Why did they do that ? I never thought that Jurassic Park was that violent as it is one of my favorite movie since I am 5 years old. Furthermore, a lot of kids love that movie and those scenes never shocked anybody.
I really don't get that, and I am quite pissed off about it too.

Try watching 'Sound of Music' without reference to the nazi's . But seriously, it is ridiculous when nonsensical cuts are made to quite old movies. Maybe there is a reference to something upsetting
The dinosaurs represent the leaders of the CCP, and they don't want to be seen killing people. EDIT: Remember the fuss over T-Square?
If you look very closely, the velociraptors were wearing "Free Tibet" shirts.

Hahahahaha, I was gonna say something similar but you totally beat me. Nice one.
You can't show pictures of people being eaten by dinosaurs, only pictures of Chinese people eating dinosaurs.
They prefer you check violence in news & media except in movie theaters.
I've seen many movies where they cut some senseless & stupid scenes, it shows only the retardness of criteria from those who censor.
Because dinosaurs cannot be portrayed as being worse than Japanese. There is no problem with showing Japanese killing and mutilating in old movies but it's a "no no" for dinosaurs to be seen in this way.
Man you are young.....you watched it when you were 5 and you still remember the scenes..I haven't seen it and don't plan to thanks for the heads up kid.
This must be a case of the censors being bored and feeling like chopping up a movie. Admittedly it's been years since I saw the movie, but it do not remember it as having anything that could be overly sensitive.
Good thing I stay away from the movie theaters here. That's insane to cut out parts of a movie that was popular with children and adults alike. I will only go see movies in Hong Kong or at home on my computer, but never could anyone convince me to go to a Chinese movie theater.

When they announced that 40 minutes of the last Bond film had been edited, I lost the will to ever go to a CHinese cinema again.
Sad and very frustrating at the same time. Another reason why China is a no-go for many. Unless we like singing Chinese covers of foreign songs, or edited foreign films, it is not an enjoyable or fun place to be.

Yes, ignoring the other problems of going to a Chinese movie theater... the smoking, obnoxious uncivilized behaviors, talking or playing games on the phone ,and a staff who are too embarrassed to make someone lose face by telling them to stop whatever it is they are doing... nope, the worst thing for me when going to the movies is knowing they may have cut out several scenes of a movie I want to enjoy. I don't go to movies here for that reason only. I can forgive the uncivilized behaviors because I am in China, but having my favorite movies cut because a censor was bored and has a job requirement to cut so much to please his superior... no way!
