Q: Why no Chinese fighter in UFC?

We have all heard "This is real Chinese kung fu". Okay. So why no Chinese in UFC? If not UFC, then just any kind of MMA. MMA is a world sport that is very popular. China like kung fu, so should be good for MMA; after all, lots of style is good for MMA.

But there is no one. There used to be a guy, I think named Zhang, but he got KO'ed by a Japnese and now we don't see him no more.

I see some fights on the TV, but are all no-name fighters in which everyone carries a flag. Why no good fighting in China? Why China not in UFC?

Zhang Tie Quan / 张铁泉

Saw him in a boring fight in Macau

There is a new tv show starting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ultimate_Fighter:_China could be a lot of girly fighting in that.

American citizens absolutely dominate UFC (if measured by nationality of fights won).  I guess that is understandable because the majority of contestants are US citizens.

Anyway, maybe some weird China govt. conspiracy to not lose face ?   I mean how can they broadcast the China champion getting fkng pummeled shitless by some white American dude ?

Robk:

True, but Canadians and Brazilians have left a strong mark in the UFC as well.

didnt see it but if they fight like i saw it on random tv the last days i dont expect anything else than getting crushed by 2m taller guys who give them just 1 punch Oups

meanwhile other countries are not worse only because they took over the sport from another country. therefor china is better in gymnastics and whatsoever

Well look out as China have there own Ultimate fighter series so there will be a Chinese UFC fighter soon.

Asian fighters are starting to break into the UFC so should be more soon, but there are also other established fighting circuits out there that have a few.

UFC is the biggest organization out there and only out there to make money it seems as they recently did cut Yushi Okami  against there own 3 loss fight policy- though he did not lose 3 in a row and a good fighter decision seemed to be financial?

kung fu and sport are different things. You dont practice kung fu to fight with gloves under some rules that clearly helps those BJJ guys. MMA is just Bollocks.

What, Uxbridge Football Club? I think there was one but he kept fouling on the pitch. Claimed the urinals in the men's room were too high to reach. Messy business.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
