Q: Why women proudly show off hairy legs during summer?
I know that the traditional conception of beauty changes from culture to culture but come on. Hairy legs on a girl is nasty anyway you slice it. Yesterday in the bus I had one, late 20s brushing up to me. She was wearing a one-piece dress that stopped well above the knees. I took one glance of those long legs and almost went full projectile vomit mode when I saw the fur she was packing. If you're going to wear such an alluring dress, why the horror show below?
If this was April or May, I'd understand...coming out of hibernation and all. But not mid-July when it's boiling outside.

Same reason they don't bother to shave their armpits or other areas....I'm sure it's cultural 
But I've had similar experiences. You'll see a girl approaching that you think is a 10, great body, beautiful face etc etc. Then she raises her arm to reveal a rat's nest, or she gets close enough to see her hairy legs. Ugh.

Because, long hair in China is considered 'beautiful part of the body'. There is no high heat issue here. lol

Well, look on the bright side. At least they don't braid the hair under their arms!
II haven't seen any furry legs and I'm up in the northeast...wonder why? Arm pits...yes. Seen that.
Where are these furry legs you speak of? Am I am in the wrong place?
People here are hair challenged. I can handle the small amount of hair under the arms or down below but I have never seen hairy legs...and if you knew how many Chinese girls I was with before my gf you would be stunned. My chest has more hair than the entire body of Chinese girls...and men for that point.
Know exactly what you mean mate, I had to get my missus to shave her legs when we met. That was 6 years ago now. Since then I can't say i've noticed it much, but I do remember noticing at the time that a 'lot' of girls failed to shave their legs. I remember my missus told me it was because if she shaved them the hair would grow quicker. Strange logic. She came around though.

That's actually true: once you shave legs, hair grows back thicker. Most of us get around that by shaving very regularly.

It only looks like that just when it comes out. If you let it grow full out, it will be exactly like before you shaved it.

I shave my head regularly 'cause I don't like long hair in this heat, my face I shave of course, and every once in a while, just one of my buttocks. Then I draw faces on each one, give them both names and do street theatre. 'Of Mice and Men' works well 'cause they're mismatched in size, but 'The Sound of Music' got rave reviews. Been arrested 7 times.
I would say, based on sporadic observations, that most Chinese Ladies do shave their ;legs once in a while. But not every day, and that includes armpits. I asked my GF once why, and she told me that if done everyday, it does grows faster and thicker. I would say my GF does shave under her arms quite often, but her legs get the treatment maybe once a month. The hair on her legs is very thing, and a month growth is less than 1/2 of an inch. For her, hardly noticeable. From 3 or 4 feet away you will not see it.
And since I do have hair ALL over, I really do not pay any attention to it.
I suppose talking about waxing or laser is completely farfetched... This society still has a lot of potential... They just need to convert this potential energy into... facts. 
And for the record I think it really looks horrible to see an hairy woman. But what can we do...

Been in China more than five years. and I really haven't seen any hairy Asian girls yet. I can only think of two so far, and their legs were more of a short downy sort instead of "hair" properly.
May I ask what region you are in?

My GF always looks at fashion magazines. I simply pointed out to her that all of the fashionable models are clean shaven (arm pits, legs, other places
she began shaving almost immediately and it has never been an issue again.
Its bad to project your personal preferences on to other people. No one has to care about what you like.
everyone has the right to live and do the way they please, you cannot force someone into your likes and dislikes, that's totally unfair !!
I really get grossed out by hairy heads. All the girls here let the hair on their head grow. It is so long, they even straighten it out and such. Any body hair at all is just gross. If you are not going through kimo you are just disgusting. That is why I am moving to Fukushima.

my last chinese gf had the serious bearded clam thing going on! shocked me a bit to see this waifish, small, delicate looking little thing when she got naked first time,,, I was like WTF? lotsa china's rival latins in their hirsuteness.
