Whatever question it is they're asking you, there's one thing you have to remember...the motivation certainly isn't curiosity.

untill i know the person well, i wouldn't answer that question. Last night, first question i was asked 'what does your husband think about you being in China?' 

exactly! pisses me off too! arrgh!!

If it is someone I dont really know (or like) I just say I am "waiting for the statute of limitations to run out".

Students answer: "fine, thank you, and you?

It is a joke ,but only for Chinese student who learn English from child to adult can be understand very well. When we are go to school learn English at first time till we finished all the English course. What s you name? how are you? Where you from? How old are you etc.  it deeply in our mind, except this ,no more I think.

We are learn English just for test ,not for talk and chat online with someone.

 what a pity! How can I talk with a foreigner? The teacher don’t say that to me. What I should do? O, yes, thanks for the stable rudiment of English educate, I remember that, why you come to china? “ sometimes I don’t know” the foreigner said . what?  Why doesn't these foreigners according the text and give me a normal answer? What can I say the next?

We are don’t want be a spy , peep the somebody’s private. yes, my teacher always say that, the private is importance things to foreigners and don t ask. But what is private and what is not?  Maybe people have different idea.

I ask a foreigner “why you go to the china”. In fact ,I don’t want know ,I just don’t idea what I can say, and I thought maybe it little better than silence just you look at me and I look at you . he had a very beautiful gold hair and very pretty eyes( I forget the color but how different from us).

What expect I can? free use the word be humor? I forget everything once I learned. (Even if he’s ugly and I don’t forget also I did)

By the way ,after that , I go to the other city, and I often receive the same question, I feel little sad cause I don’t want say the real reason that make me remember the bad things.so ,I can understand why talk about weather is a better idea and before this I don’t thinking  serious. Also I remerber I has a litter rude at the that moment. I feel sorry.

 Back to the question, I think they don t know what to say and don’t realize that was a private things.
