Q: Why's there no graffiti in China?

I know there's a strict government here and all that, but isn't graffiti about breaking the rules? I'd have thought someone, somewhere would be at it. You ever seen any?

In fact why are there no crop circles (you know.....those big pictures in fields) here either? They're a kind of graffiti, aren't they? I heard they've appeared in every country in the world, except China. Why's that, aliens don't like noodles? Maybe it's the traffic.

I've seen graffiti. It was on the wall near a construction site. The words were in English, which was surprising in such a small city. I have no idea who would have done that, but it was nothing offensive.

Saw many graffiti written in Chinese when I was in Beijing. I thought it was normal in every big city.

Gaohao:

Does it tend to be in English or Chinese? Just curious as to whether it's written mostly by foreigners or Chinese, and who it's aimed at.

I've seen it too, in fact in Shanhai there is a graffiti street near one of the art districts.

listen i understand wumaos got their jobs to do but seriously??? no graffitti in china? you claim to be in nanning when i was in nanning  i saw graffitti , beijing definitely hohhot , guangzhou, i can go on. if you want to make china seem like a nice place focus in the realm of reality.

the accounts may have changed but the dumb questions are still the same

Gaohao:

Say what now? I was just asking a question mate, that's still aloud, isn't it?

Yyyes, I am in Nanning. And it's trrrue, I haven't seen graffiti anywhere. I'm talking scrawls here though, not 'Lily heart David', I mean proper graffiti.

I don't think I try to make China seem like anything super special, in fact realistic is exactly what I think I am. You seem to be quite quick to demonize China and I can understand that, you're a black man. I think if I was black i'd take a pretty dim view of the place myself.

And, hahaha, this fixation you seem to have with this English bloke Mataya and how I am him is all very well and good - if it keeps you happy, fill your boots - but I am not him, I can assure you. You do know there's more than one of us, don't you?

Also I don't even think my questions are 'that' daft. One or two maybe but most are pretty ordinary. Just get bored sometimes, that's all. Didn't think it was that important.

Whatever mate:) I speak how I speak because I am who I am. I don't need or wish to pretend to be anyone else because I respect myself and do not wish to be anyone else. You don't seem to respect China and if that's not because they discriminate against you as a black man, then I don't know what the reason is. Personally I believe people have as much respect for each other as they have for themselves and no more. But you're welcome to discriminate against who you want to, it makes no difference to me. If you wish to believe that I am not who I say I am, that is also your right, it makes no difference to me. Good luck and all the best:)

So wumao is a Chinese person who pretends they are a foreigner online, right? How utterly pathetic.

Haha, just looked over my earlier text and spotted the 'aloud' mistake you made such a fuss about. I'm partially dyslexic, so I do that sometimes. I'd have fixed the mistake as i'm also quite analy retentive about such things but the truth is I can't for the life of me remember how it is spelt. Aloud. Aload. Allowed. Yeh, I got it:) Sigh.

I have something I want to post. It was written for you, Mr Crimo. I posted it on another area of this site but i'm afraid you might miss it. But I do so want you to read it. I do, oh, I do, I do. So here it is, once more, and especially for you: Our Souls: Let us cleanse our souls, Let us bare our souls, Let us bath our souls, in a holy light. Let us search our souls, Let our souls breath daily, Let us strike a fire within our souls to fight. Feel the thunder in our souls, Feel love's kiss upon our souls, Let us listen to our souls, And let our souls not sigh. Let us look within our souls, Find the light within our souls, Let us gently feel our souls, And let them not ask why. Let our souls not strain, As we bend them to the toil, Let a wind pass through our souls as through the tree. And should our souls not see, Let us tell our souls, That we are all only our souls, And our souls are we. Stop being an arsehole, dude.

Gaohao, your logic is funny: What does being black have to do with holding a negative view of China? No logical link between the two! You seem to suggest we blacks have a negative view of China, whites etc a positive one. How bizarre! Different people, including non blacks, have negative views about different things in China. I had never felt offended and insulted on this forum until I read your ridiculous comment about being black vs one's view of China. You should have seen the fury on my black face, in my black eyes, on my black teeth, on my black tongue and on my black lips. Good you are where you are.

Gaohao:

I'd have thought it was kind of obvious. A black man or woman in a country that actually makes a rule not to give jobs to black people. That person is likely to be a bit pissed with that rule.

Am I not saying this shit in English or something?

Bona:

Gaohao, look: First, you are assuming that just because one can be disappointed/frustrated due to racial discrimination in the job sector then that person will hold a negative view of China. Jobs are not all China has to offer to foreigners; it's just one piece among the numerous things about which a person can form a view of this country. One can be disappointed in one area e.g jobs but be contented with life in other areas. Therefore such a person can still have a positive view of China. You wont tell me that just because you are not black - which allows you to get jobs easily - then you dont have negative views about certain things in China. Second, your comment shows you are assuming that we are all here for jobs. No, not all blacks are here for jobs. In fact some just don't even care what happens in the job sector here. So it's faulty reasoning to conclude that just because of the racial discrimination in the job industry blacks hold a negative view of China. And ....oh no, you didnt say that in English. Next time, try to give your opinion in English - I will get all you want to say.

Gaohao:

Bona, this black and white thing is tedious. So what if I assume Crimo's obvious disenchantment with China is racially motivated? I mean really, so what? It seems a person can't say the word 'black' in a sentence without running the risk of it being interpreted in a thousand negative ways. I couldn't even follow your latest post, i'm too tired and it's boring, but if it suits you to see me as an ignorant bigot, then please do. In fact I am sitting here right now in a Hitler Youth uniform polishing a swastika. You win.

And Crimo, I do have dyslexia, and I do know what it is, of course. It's a condition whereby the left and right sides of your brain come into some form of disequalibrium, creating confusion with traditionally simple things like spelling, or even telling one's left from one's right. I have it only mildly and it effects my spelling. Haha, I also have to say to myself 'never eat shredded wheat' as a means to remember the clockwise order of the words 'north east south west'. But Einstein also had it so i'm in good company. In good company in my dyslexia at any rate, not on this website; between you and Bona, who seems to have gotten it into his head that i'm some sort of card-carrying racist, i'm beginning to feel the wolves of persecution closing in around me. Haha, which is why I posted my, somewhat rude, rebuttle in the form of that joke about 'our soles' and that poem about 'our souls'. Feel a little bad about that as i'd honestly prefer to drop this back and forth battling and move on to more interesting subjects. Some people enjoy arguments, I don't, i'd rather just chat and make jokes. Also I was drunk when I posted last night. Here, Crimo, has it really not occured to you that you may be completely wrong? Just pushing and pushing a round peg into a square hole will never make it square you know.

mowenting:

I don't think Gaohao meant to say that because someone is black that they have a worse view of China.  I think what he meant was that since China seems to have a worse view of black individuals than non-black individuals a black person might have a more difficult experience here, thereby influencing the likelihood of a more negative view of China.  That's not 100% true, but I could see that happening.  I had a black friend here who had a difficult time because her host family treated her poorly and because people treated her in ways dissimilar to other foreigners, in a negative way.  I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time, but it seems to be somewhat of a trend.  Cheers mates

Are you suggesting that having the opinion (belief) that God exists (no established facts), then that too is a moronic statement.   It is an opinion, nothing more and nothing less.

Are you one of those people who are so convinced that their opinions are correct and superior that you immediately become aggressive and insulting.   Perhaps another cultural export from the USA?   Personally, I prefer Graffiti.

Gaohao, sorry mate, don't know how it happened, perhaps the American controllers of this site got confused.   Let you get on with it, old chap.

Crimochina, oh dear you've got it wrong again.   The car was invented in Germany also the Space Rocket, the phone in Italy, the Computer and TV in Britain.   There are question marks regarding the portable phone and aeroplane.   I wonder which country has the most brainwashing in school?   You seem to be a wonderful example of American exports, hostile and agressive, which proves my point.

Gaohao:

Hehe, ney bother pal, but you done did it again, that rebuttle to Crimo (i'm convinced he and Nevermind are one in the same person and it is actually a 14 year old girl) should've been attached to the other box.
