Nope. All they want is your wallet. Well, and maybe a car. And house. And the latest fashions. Oh, and to travel. And good food. Ummm, and, by the time they are finished, a new boyfriend.
I have black friends from the US, the UK, France, and multiple places in Africa that have found nice girlfriends here. Now, not all of them are Chinese girls, but some are.I think girls from western cultures are a bit more accepting of race, blah, blah... but there are Chinese girls who will like you because you are a decent person. If you have money (and a lot of it) you WILL find a lot of gold diggers. Just like anywhere else. Use your common sense and see if you can find something that makes you happy. Hell, pretend to be poor if you're worried about it.
China DOES have a predjudice against people with darker skin, but it's a general stereotype - not everyone does. Younger girls with exposure to western culture don't seem to care as much, but their parents might... I think that's more of an issue as China is a very patriarcal society - if Dad says she can't date you, well, she won't unless she's really rebellious... Which is rare here.
So is it possible? Absolutely.
Geeze, I'm sorry. I just assumed you were of a darker complexion because you said African. You might be any shade of color (but probably not Asian, that's a safe bet, but you never know!). One of my whitest ass friends in from South Africa, and I have friends from Egypt who are light skinned Arabic. Africa is a big continent full of many different people.
Either way, I would say yes, you can find a nice girl who will like you for you no matter what.

simple even in a place like china everyone is not the same. you can find real genuine love (or a girl seriouly lusting after a black man) in my time here i have met 2 women who wanted just black men and they were willing to shower me with gifts.
you must work harder for it than white guys, you must work harder than blacks from western countries, but you will find a woman who is into you or your man but dont care about your money.
the main obstacle is that some africans have created a bad image for dark skin people so in cities that are not too open but have a small amount of africans commiting crimes and defrauding people people will not be as friendly to you.
but i swear to god if you are african and go around lieing to women telling them you are american in order to get them i will find you and kill you
