Q: Will a Huawei phone bought in China work in North America?

I am looking to buy a new phone soon, and am unsure whether i should buy a phone in Canada or China. I want a phone that will work with service providers from both countries. Right now I have 2 phones; one that only works in China, and one that only works in Canada. I want to do 'pay as you go' and buy the phone outright and be able to use service providers form either country. What are your suggestions?

You need to look at what types of mobile networks the phone supports and what types of networks are in China and Canada. I would think a cheap Huawei phone is likely to only work in China, whereas if you get a mid-range one there is hope.

You need a quad banded or GMS phone. Look for GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 under about the phone. If you buy in Canada you need it unlocked for China. Telus is the cheapest if you have to have one unlocked and phones like Lg are cheaper to unlock. Or just buy an unlocked phone. I buy used phones, I'll probably have it stolen or break it. I'm not into the latest and even if I was then used is cheaper. I think phones are cheaper in Canada.

Phones- HTC One, Sony Xperia Z1, Samsung GalaxyS4 & S3, Motorola Droid razr, LG optimus G, iPhone 5 s and 5 c broke sales records, 5c comes in colours, pink out sold everything.

I think Huawei Ascend P6 looks like an iPhone, quality built, but cheaper price.

One thing I don't like about android phones is you can't always update, I'm running 2.35, if I had an iPhone, I can get the last IOS.

The secret is the ROM program. I bought a Lenovo because you can download a ROM from the net and convert it to an English phone which gets rid of all the Chinese crap on it. The phone works in the Philippines, Australia and China.

I've just checked Google and your Huawei can be changed and made to work anywhere in the world.

Good phone too.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
