I think so. You've already got subway in almost all the major cities. But subway does leave a lot to be desired. I think the mere fact that China isn't really a cheese and ham type of culture, matching the West in terms of sandwich ingredient quality isn't going to happen in mainstream places.

Don't forget the power of attraction of 'Merica. McDonald's and KFC took over the eating habits of Chinese men and women. Look at how everybody look at us, like they WANT to be us, Westerners and 'Mericans.

But it's hard to change a mentality in a few years. It takes time. One day, you'll see sammiches places everywhere. Subway is a start, they have the money to invest in China.

But now, I would say your best bet is to learn to Chinese girlfriend how to make sammiches so she can go to kitchen and make you sammiches! Reward her with a peck on the cheek and a small outing afterward and you're set for purr happiness!
