Q: Will tacky hair accessories ever go out of fashion in China?

Each day when I take the subway I either inspect people's footwear or headwear. Trust me, this is far more entertaining than reading a book or playing a game on your phone! This morning I couldn't help noticing the prevalence of super-tacky hair accessories on adult women. Diamante-clips, glitter encrusted ribbons, pink plastic hair pins, 1990s chunky hair elastics, headbands with rabbit ears....you name it! I thought hair accessories were cute from the ages of 4-12 but then I moved on. Why is that not the case here?

It's a way for people to make money and earn a living...there is a lady at the  hutong that sells rabbit ears everyday!
