They were talking about adding chinese classes to highschools and colleges since they predicted Asian Americans to be the number one immigrants in the states by 2012. That time has come since it is now a fact that Asian American immigrants outnumber the previous number one latinos. Remember they taught spanish at school and the big reason was because they had the most immigrants. So will they start to add chinese courses throughout America now.
They don't want to encourage yet even more Chinese, so NO.
Here's your next stupid question- Will they finally make American courses in China permanent now?
mattaya:
your dumb your not an american so you wouldn't know you are from Mexico remember Ted! If there are more immigrants coming there they need to add classes for the communication...that's why they had spanish courses in school....you should know you were part of that immigration process since you are latino.
crimochina:
Wumao: you are dumb. if you were really american you would know spanish is not mandatory so why the hell would they make chinese mandatory. can't think like an american can you. and the option to learn french or spanish has to do with this fact. international languages (1,2,3) English, Spanish, French. more people speak chinese but 90% of them are in china. so no one cares. doing business with china in china is a passing fad. (by the way 4. is portugese) the sad truth is chinese as a language is not suitable for a changing world.
Mr_spoon:
Mattaya... "My birth language is English. YOUR [...] YOUR "
Dude... Even I don't make that mistake. You're not fooling anyone anymore.
LAR:
"Here's your.....................now." Ha Ha..good comeback Ted.
They should! Mandarin Chinese is one of the world's most spoken languages and there's a huge skill gap. Not letting in Chinese teachers is like Uncle Sam sticking his head in the sand.
ambivalentmace:
skill gap, are you saying chinese teachers are needed in america because our math is not up to standards, please we dont need them , anybody good in math , can get a green card and then become an american. we dont need an educated society because everyone wants to come to america. this may change in the future, many foreigners come to america because they can patent under real laws and make some bucks for the ideas they have. it wont be stolen by the government and they dont make a dime except a thank you and a government salary. looking at purely technology and advancement , the kids should learn japanese and forget the rest of the world.
Do you think all Asian's who immigrate to the US are Chinese? I would call you a moron but that would be insulting to morons.
