Home is Guangzhou so I’ll be staying home at Christmas

though it is a typical poorly thought out question. As already mentioned, majority of us are on Chinese holidays & Christmas isn’t a Chinese holiday...

Most Chinese employers give no more than 1 day holiday for Christmas.

Some don't even allow any time off. People working in China get Chinese holidays, not non-Chinese holidays.

Seeing as you have worked with foreigners, how do you not know this?

Why can't people here think up an original question, I'm constantly asked this stupid question. A few years ago I was asked this by a student right after giving details for their exam which fell on December 25th.

Its obvious what curious is saying. Out of context perhaps, but certainly in line with recent posts.

Carefull Vicki.

http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2017/12/20/chinese-communists...

According to this vastly popular news website ( Trump himself reads it), Christmas is banned in China. Only Shanghai has Christmas trees. Beijing does not even have fake snow.

We all know Christmas is not a thing in China, and why should it be. Brits dont get CNY holidays and all that.

But be carefull Vicky, according to Breitbart, one more mention of the C word and its off to re-education you go Smile

ScotsAlan:

As a wee add. Daughter loves it. I have been black mailing her with Santa for months now. Her school (Government run), has given her Christmas day off. Obviously, the headmaster of the school does not read Breitbart. Otherwise he would know its banned.

Scotts is a damn liar!

Article states : China’s state newspaper the Global Times reported Wednesday that Communist Party officials in some municipalities have banned members from “celebrating” Christmas in yet another way to fight an alleged “cultural invasion” of China by the West.

Hey.. I switch to conservative mode when I read Breitbart. Did you see the bit about Harbin ice festival. Can you believe that? The bloody commies are launching an ice festival in Harbin to takes peoples minds away from our lords birthday. Breitbart suggests this year is the first ice festival in Harbin. Bloody commies should embrace Christ.

Quote from the Breitbart scripture...

'While Chinese citizens may not be allowed to decorate...'

Implication seems plain to me. Jesus not welcome.

Breitbart mode.... stop Islamification of.west... no to Sharia.. Ban Muslims.

Dam those Chinese commies.. rejecting our Lords Birthday.
