Q: Winter in China. Are you ready ?

How you alive during these uncomfortable days and what item is best to help you survive ?

I am ready. i got 2 electric-oil heaters, but my wife do not like them. rather she use an AC, which i do not like in winter so much. Are your windows also with 1cm gap between each window pole, where the cold air happy come inside your house ?

Never again, I was colder in China than at home in Canada. My house is well insulated and has central heat. On cold days I can wear a car. I'm thinking Dominican this winter.

Nessquick:

Agree with you, I feel here also much colder, I am from czech, where winter is also not much "user friendly" :-) I have tried to insulate my windows, but you know, these sliding windows are impossible to insulate. so, there will be the the 6th cold winter without snow for me here. I hope next year, i will take my wife and son to enjoy real nice winter in the Europe :-)

The cold doesn't bother me as much as the summers in China.

At least in the cold I can put on more clothes or while in the house crank up the heater.  In the summer when your soaked in sweat, its smoggy, your tired...there's nothing you can do about it.

I have been in the northeast of China for four years, temperature in winter there can be down to 30 degrees below zero,so ,winter in the other places is nothing to me after that.

It's still -20 everyday here where I am.  Last month it was -30.

Last week in Russia it was zero, or just under.  We went to Russia for a winter break.  Funny, right?

ScotsAlan:

We had snow flakes in GZ a few weeks back. It was even on BBC news.
