Q: work permit notification cancelaation
Hi, I would like to ask your help regarding a situation I am in right now. I had been offered a job at a company situated in shanghai, sent in all the necessary documents and got the work permit notification. I terminated the offer for some reasons. Now, I have another application on process and told me to confirm them when the withdrawn of the previous application is done. for the previous one, I signed and sent the cancellation form upon asking and requested them to let me know when my application is withdrawn. But the previous company is not responding anymore. Will you please tell me, how I may know, whether my work permit notification is canceled or not? and what is the process to cancel the work permit notification rather than the work permit, are they the same? or otherwise? Thank you so much for your help.

Nobody can tell you that ....'except, (IMO)' ... because you signed contract with company, which applied for your WP (with your signed contract!) and started process to get your WP.
Contract, you signed has stipulated terms of cancelation and ... changing your mind because of higher pay isn't the one, so your cancelation isn't justified by party A.
I would say, you will most likely experience problems at getting new WP, but let see what happened.
'except, (IMO)':
SAFEA (Foreign Expert Bureau) approved your WP and can certainly tells you where do you stand, so I suggest you ask them about cancelation of your WP.
Enter 'SAFEA' in search above for thread with SAFEA's addresses and contact numbers all around China.
Dial them up and ask about your WP.
These are addresses and phone no. of provincial SAFEA HQ. You will most likely encounter Chinese English speaking agent.

Bwahahahaha. Safea is the solution for everything, apparently. Taking the hourly/daily calls from you would have been a hazing prank on the new workers. Hmmm, I wonder why, after so many jobs in china all involving them in the most trivial matters, they refused to continue to provide RPs?

I am talking out of my own experience. 8-years of working experience in China, and 'yes' only SAFEA can sort out your employer, if one is working legally.
I called them first time while I was working on F visa and everything went well.
Now, if you have better advice, I am all ears. Let us laugh for real ...

"lough" all you want. A discussion with the first company to find out what they have done about cancellation of the RP process would provide useful information. An administrative process doesn't just stop, several departments will need to stop their part of the process and pass it to the next. It will take time. The first company's HR department would need to know this so they can start the process for his replacement. That would be my first step. So have your lough now [sic].

I suggest, you have a read again what OP is saying ... i.e. 'company doesn't reply ...'
OP sorted it out your first administrative advice. Continue, please ...

Although we don't know the nature of the correspondence, I think it is safe to assume it became acrimonious at some point. Perhaps some fence mending might help the situation?

TPP, it's hard to beat the Methusalah of this website. Icniiff has grown white long beardy by now, and sits in a zen position calmly reflecting on your moods, while he is smoking from the pipe of peace, or is it a ...hookah. Yeah, that one, down the street of the Old Turkish Empire.
icnif77:
Stop being so fluffy, PTT!
Did you really want to say in short: "I don't know ...!"??
I contacted SAFEA and asked for help at every school I was in China, and I mostly worked at public schools except for first two mills (EF Tangshan and Helen Hangzhou).
Every time I called FEB, I opened thread here ... It's all documented ...
I found the thread about Helen Group Hangzhou and getting my last pay while illegally working on F visa ... by contacting and getting help from gov. administration ...:

@PulSartre, it's a struggle to know what he is talking about half of the time, the other half is nonsensical gibberish.
icnif77:
No, it's a reflection of your double digits IQ ...
So, when we'll start to laugh PTT? C'mon ...
Show some respect to OP, please ... he he!

Try SAFEA just as Icniff says but be aware that in the even of you being illegally employed, as far as I understand, it may turn against you. Also, you cannot get any chance to be employed by your prospective employer unless you have that cancelation dully provided.
Also, let us know about your old emplyer, a scammer seemingly, and of course a note inhere to know how you did it. All the best and don't get panicked.
icnif77:
OP isn't working, yet!
His problem is 'he/she breached signed contract ...', what will turn in my opinion into being denied new and future Working permit(s) issued by SAFEA.
We won't know the final result unless OP tells us ...
what is the website for SAFEA?
