DrMonkey:

In English (and in French too), mandarine is a fruit that looks like a small orange and taste something close to an orange
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandarin_orange
There's also the clementine, even smaller, an hybrid of orange and mandarine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clementine
The tangerine is a close cousin to the mandarine, called like this because it was grown a lot around the city of Tanger.

what is Mandrin in your mind?Chinese chirography?Qing Dynasty officials?orChinese language?please tell me

DrMonkey:

It depends on how you use the word mandarin
* Mandarin (with a major M) is a language spoken in China, and taught in all schools in modern China. It's to make the distinction with others languages commonly spoken in China, like Cantonese or Hokkien.
* A mandarin (with a minor m) is the name for a scholar bureaucrat in Imperial China.
It can be used nowadays to speak of a bureaucrat, usually in a joking way.

mandrin does not exists in English, but in French, it's the name of a tool to make holes.

DrMonkey:

Look at the original question (the top of the page), the name of the poster (left side of the top of the page) : anonymous. So until now, nobody could be sure it was you who posted the question ;)

that mandarine official  is so terrible

DrMonkey:

Agree ^^ It's a white guy with lots of make-up to look like an asian guy, with Manchu elements (clothes, mustaches, hair). I think the picture is taken from one of the Fu Manchu movies from the 60's, which are terrible and idiotic movies :p

you comment is  so funny,so crazy, would anyone like to exchange her immortal soul or first-born child for learning another kind of language?when does Chinese language become so invaluable?i wanna learn english,ok ,that is my aim.

sorrel:

ok, so you want a language exchange.

maybe you should change the question above to reflect that.

I have had unfortunate experiences with language exchange.

The person involved usually suddenly became 'too busy'  when it was my turn to learn Chinese, or when i suggested teaching me first, suddenly had 'something else to do'

So you will excuse my skepticism.

whom you met is a bad person.compared with english ,chinese words are more complex, more difficult to learn.chinese language is very funny, morphological pattern vary from different meaning...that is China...old weird ,incapable of being expressed ,special country

i would suggest you try to find a local English Corner.

There you could meet and chat with foreigners regularly.

Good luck with that.

i believe i did help him by outlining the concerns of many, myself included, when we agree to 'language exchange'

I have been caught out once too often to accept a 'language exchange' at face value.

The suggestion of finding an English corner is valid for anyone who wants to improve.

They are also good places to meet foreigners who want to practice and improve their spoken Mandarin.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
