Q: Would a Chinese girlfriend leave you if you lost your job?

Cultural gap is so wide between 'Merica and China, that sometimes I wonder. Chinese girl are teh best, they are nice and caring, but I can't halp to wonder just how big money is part of a relationship between mixed couple.

I guess it depends on why you lost your job...

Incompetance? Having sex with the manager's house boy? Possibly good reasons to leave you.

Downsizing? Racist company? Maybe not a good reason to leave you.

(But when you're just a troll on an expat website, there's no chance of losing your job!)

if the lady is sincere enough and she believes your ability and will-power i think she will not leave. its another reason if she has already someone in her mind and she is just having a relationship based upon something intangible with you so i guess if you lost your job she will feel insecure with you and will leave you very easily with out giving a damn on it.
it happened with a chinese guy. having a good job, salary , car , house and child as well i know him its not a story. that woman got interested with a foreigner nearly 55 of age. she filed divorce with that chinese men and left everything with him just for this single foreigner.

dears and nears everything depends. i wish we get enough sincere ladies......

I don't think it will be very difficult to find a new job in China nowadays. So the answer is NO.

Also depends what job you lost.

If you shovel poo in a barnyard, or clean the bogs at Maccy D's, then she probably wouldn't mind.

So long as you got a better job afterwards! (Like trolling on expat websites)

In their mind its their livelihood you just lost, not your job, it has nothing to do with you and no hard feelings but they want a provider not someone they see as a loser. They'll be gone before you blink an eye

Any woman needs that sense of security from their man! Not just Chinese women!

Being unemployed for a little while in between jobs is no problem, and I seriously doubt any would leave you OUTRIGHT if you lost your job. You'd probably get a lot of crap, but i don't think they would go that far.

If you go months without a job, expect to be alone!

As a general rule of thumb, it's a huge loss of face in China for the woman to make more than the man. As such, unless you win the lottery, I don't think your relationship would last long in China if you lost your job.

She's now my fiance.

"Jesus dude how the hell do you not have a job in China?? It can't be any easier. That's just sad. Are you looking or sitting at home smoking dope and playing PS3 all day?? You should marry her, at least she'll support you! "

I work in a specific field. I have a job now and am doing quite well, thank you. While I was unemployed I did oddjobs teaching English, but I'm not a retard, so that's not my main field. I couldn't take full time gigs doing that cause they wanted me to sign year long contracts and I wouldn't . She leant me money cause I told her I would have to go home cause I would be short on rent and nothig was panning out. that's when she offered. Then, with about two weeks left on my visa, I got something.

YeDaXi:

So you mean, only "retards" teach English? We might be in a country full of retards then. You should realise that maybe one day your "specific" profession might not even be needed anymore and any job is as good as another. I do really respect teachers, I tried it myself and I am rubbish at it so I would never even consider it a job for retards, I think is a very hard profession, so it is any job that involves any contact with other people (waitressing, cleanining, customer services...). In my opinion a real man is not measure by his expertise or the number of credit cards in his wallet. A real man is the one that facing difficulties is able to step down his podium in order to go on and make a life for himself.

Toad just picked a good woman. Alot of girls prioritize the money over the relationship because they don't want to risk losing on the relational investment. So they willingly choose to be materialistic and hunt for the richest guy they can come across or just focus on financial stability of a guy. This line of thinking is no different from a courtesan - thus many chinese women whore themselves out for the highest bidder.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
