Likewise, would a Chinese girl want to date or marry a younger guy? I don't mean by a lot of years, maybe like 2-4 years difference?

2-4 years difference is very common... more than that probably not..
While it is preferable for the man to be the older one (remember men mature slowly than women), a 2 to 4 age difference the other way should not be that great of a worry if the proper chemistry and feelings are there. I do know of a case, but they have less than 2 years difference (1 year and 5 months).
And they do not like to talk about it.
My wife is slightly older than me (a few months), and I've learned not to let Chinese guys know because they think it's both freakish and shameful. Every time I tell one, they get a look on their face that looks like they're about to scream, "CHECKMATE... FOREIGNER!"
Apparently they just are not interested in a girl who is older then they are, even when they themselves are not spring chickens. However, many girls also would not be comfortable dating, let alone marrying a boy who is younger than they are especially if it is more than a few months.
They think that is among our (foreign) peculiarities...
Two to four years older than husbands is common for couples. As I know, lots of women who are in their fourty to fifty years old are older than husbands.
no i dont think so chinese people dnt like old age womens only we are fools to date them
Between 17 and 21, I've been only with women older than me, ranging from 25 to 39, so I know a lot of women are willing to be with younger men. But I've still never seen a young Chinese guy with an older woman...
It is becoming more common these days than it used to be in my opinion. Especially in divorced successful women who find younger locals for their second husband or have a younger boyfriend. I know of a few in Shenyang`but as a specific example if anyone has seen the documentary "The Worlds Biggest Chinese Restaurant" about the Westlake restaurant in Changsha you will see in it that the lady who started and still owns the business has remarried and her new husband is quite a lot younger than her.
The phenomenon of age difference in marriage between either sex happens world wide and seems to be roughly proportionally linked to the relative fame and/or wealth or social status imbalance between the older partner to the younger one. It is obviously not always the case but the link is both undeniable and understandable.
