Q: Would it be a good idea if the thumbs up and down buttons showed names when you hovered over them?

The same as the "Like" button does on Facebook. I would really like people to know what I think of their comments, without having to write a comment myself.

Yeh, I think it's a great idea. I don't use the down button much at all, but lack of ananonaninanimaninaty (or is that two 't's?) wouldn't stop me. I think half the time the down thumb is a coward's way of giving the finger in a bleeding popularity contest, it doesn't even reflect on what the poster has had to say.

mArtiAn:

Haha, excellent, that post was barely there long enough to read through once before some w****r down-thumbed it. Sometimes I think there's one too many losers on this board with nothing to do with their time but go around pressing on that little red button. Having names show against the thumb system would cut down considerably on those amongst us who are content wth being nothing more than little red trolls. Haha, there are three now already. I'm confident that each of those cowardly little red faggots would think twice if their name was showing because they know i'd cut them down with superior logic when they tried to defend the reason for their criticism of my post and make them look a fool in front of the board. 100 thumbs up to the idea.

That's Silva, the one man crazy gang. I have noticed that whenever he doesn't answer a post almost immediately, it gets multiple thumbs down.

I haven't noticed that and i'm very wary of assuming I know ANYTHING about ANYBODY on this forum beyond what they write in their posts. I've been accused of being a wumao, doctoring posts dishonestly and of having multiple accounts many times in the past. I've actually had two accounts, neither of which has ever been active at the same time.

Gets my vote too. Good idea, I don't down vote anyone because it has lost all meaning. Too many people will down vote a post just because of who posted it regardless of the contents of that post. Makes it all really pointless.

TedDBayer:

The person that gets the most thumbs down does not make any sense usually. I could eat a can of alphabet soup and shit out a better answer.

If you don't like or disagree with what someone says have the moral fortitude to say so, not hide behind a meaningless thumbs down.
