Q: Would locals be prepared to pay more for quality trade work?
As in a previous question it is pretty much accepted that quality of work here is piss poor, but the reason is that those who do the job get very little pay. If a company was set up where the quality of work was good, would the locals be prepared to pay a 50% extra premium for that work and would they understand that this concept works out cheaper in the long run.
Probably not at all because the idea of a concept that makes things work better is not a concept that works here. How do you match the bad work against the good, you would have to convince people to beleive that you are far better than (maybe) someone thay know.
Money is very tight for people, but being able to bargain is the best!! Don't worry about quality as long as it works for over a week!! 
No... the sad thing is, most can't see the long term picture. So if it is cheaper and easier and works right now, then it is good... who cares about if it will still be good next month.

There are plenty of people who could afford it, but there just seems to be a lack of understanding about weighing up the initial cost of something compared to whole of life costs. For a country where people try so hard to get things done cheaply they at times pay more because the job was not done properly in the first place. Even when the rich use very expensive materials to decorate their home for example the quality of the workmanship is generally poor. I think there is a market for a company to perform quality work and make good profit IF and it's a big IF they can market themselves and locals can get their head around the long term costs concept.
