Q: Would you do a visa marriage?
ie - get married so someone could (eventually) claim citizenship (or at least, permanent residency) in your home* country?
And, if so, how much would you expect for this service?
(* some of us have an automatic right of abode in other countries... this could make things interesting!)
I've been asked to.. and I refused (the money was way too low! 
Besides, they said 'no sex'... W.T.(not allowed to) F.???)

It's illegal for a Brit to do this. If you applied for a spouse visa and lied, you could get into a whole load of trouble. I am not saying that I agree with the law.

But, if I had the spare cash, I'd consider paying an Italian girl for the privilege - European passport within 3 years - 2 if living in Italy.. (but, I'd still be picky about her :p)Stiggs:

Something else to consider for those who might want to give it a shot.... as I understand it, they have case officers investigate the partnership to see if it's genuine. If they decided they wanted to interview your family or friends you'd be putting them in an awkward spot. Help you but be an accomplice to immigration fraud.

Yup stiggs. I had a UK guy ask me once to write a letter for his wife's spouse visa. He wanted me to say they had been together longer than they had. I wrote the letter, but with the facts. No idea if he used the letter, but she got the visa.

in america if the lady is working, paying taxes, a good education, the case offer does not go any further, but if you have taken welfare or dont have a job living off the husband, they dig further into the case, when i showed our tax returns and joint bank accounts the approval was stamped right away, 30 minute interview done in 10 minutes.
my second wife was a visa marriage, worked out pretty well, still friends, in fact she helped me get a job in china and get settled in here. she was on a student visa and wanted to stay in america.
i was offered 75000 dollars from a lady in fujian to marry but her english was terrible and she would never pass the immigration interview, so i told her not to waste her money i certainly was not going to learn chinese for the money.
