Nope, I would actually be a bit relieved as I teach 20 hours a week, study chinese four a week and to editing as well.

maybe i would be a bit if they didn't ask first, but also value my free time here. Maybe it's because it would be awkward for them to have to pay you, or would you not charge them?

Perhaps the friend doesn't want you to feel he/she is taking advantage of your friendship. I have heard of some chinese people who do have a conscience. Tongue But if you feel insulted, ask the person.

A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
