Q: Would you take your date to eat at KFC?

KFC (and other Western restaurants) are considered high-quality establishments that are highly regarded by the middle class. In fact, these restaurants are sure to offer free WiFi service to its well-to-do clients.

As such, would you take your Chinese date out to KFC for a fun night out? And: will you carry her tray for her? Maybe hand feed her popcorn chicken, the most romantic of all deep fried foods?

Yes because the competition is not so strong like Burger King.
And there is no where to park a bike

Date at KFC of course ! So I can tell my friends I did it. We always joked of a date in KFC or McDonald, but though that it would never happen in our life. Then I went in China, where the impossible is possible.

Dating me in my young days was like a lottery, completely governed by what I (yes, ME ME ME) felt like eating. Burger King or Michelin awarded restaurant, didn't matter, could go either way..... Or this was all part of the big game of testing the women to see how much they would bitch over going to a junk food place.

I would certainly recommend for you guys on the dating scene in China to do the same. Weed out the gold diggers and hunt for those who appreciate nuggets.

Scandinavian:

Maybe. but I would not be good company in a fancy restaurant if I don't feel like being there, and the point proven by taking a girl to McD is not insignificant. Also, at least some of my girlfriends would have been uncomfortable going to Michelin awarded restaurants as first date. Can't come on too strong.

MissA:

Junk food ain't date food in my book, if (in the past, obviously) a guy asked me to go out with him then we went to KFC/Maccas etc, I'd take it as a given that he was not interested, he's just going to be a mate.

On the other hand, I'm not a Michelin kinda gal, so many of those restaurants are so up their own asses you can't actually enjoy yourself there. Somewhere pleasant and low-key is much better.

That said, my comment wasn't really about the restaurants themselves so much as the "me, me, me" comment. Would you date a woman who said "I want to go to this place, and it's all about me and my comfort, how you feel is unimportant. If I want fancy, you'll have fancy, if I want crap, you'll eat crap"?

We occasionally go there for a coffee and an ice cream.  They don't sell anything else that one would want to buy.

If there was an alternative, other than the 40 kuai rip-off joint, we'd go there instead.

KFC upper end restaurant? My sweet Scarlett O'Hara.  In the city where I live, KFC is really working class, blue collar, etc., etc.

I would't like to date a man who eats KFC. I don't care how rich or poor the guy is, or where he comes from. KFC and poor personal hygiene are major turnoffs.

So no, I wouldn't take a date to KFC.

1. I'm not saying I would never date guys who eat at KFC. 2. I don't like fast food corporations in general. Cruelty, GMOs, obesity, neo-colonialism, you name it.

After they've spent three months salary on their iPhone, there's probably not much left for food, so I'm sure they would appreciate a KFC meal.

i prefer McDonalds.

YES WHY? First time I met my wife, I took her to eat at KFC. Like 50 times. We went straight for the bucket.

You're hulk-damn right I'd take my date to KFC. It got me a wife and a baby the last time I tried it. Too bad American KFC sucks compared to Chinese KFC. Sorry, but it's true. I took the Wifezilla out to eat at KFC recently, and we didn't enjoy it.

I'm Native American. We love fried chicken more than black people could ever hope to. They're the ones who stole the fried chicken stereotype from us, and we've never forgiven them for it! Tongue

Personally; I will never.

But it also depends on my date; I'll have to ask about my date's choice too.

Nope, KFC is a place for a quick bite with friends if nothing else is around, or a greasy post-pub hangover preventative. Not a place for a pleasant evening.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
