Well cub... to be honest, you should know.

You have been involved in a long distance online relationship.

The great firewall should be a mere annoyance to you by now.

We are in China. You have fell in love with a Chinese woman and you are in Amurica. You are actually the person in the position to tell us what is banned and what is not. How do you communicate with your gf at the moment? Why would it be any different when you get here?

cub:

QQ, Wechat, and Skype seem to be pretty popular.

I have no problem with signing in to Yahoo.  You can also use wechat and whatsapp in China.
