 Snowden’s wife seeking Russian citizenship

Lindsay Mills, the wife of former US National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower Edward Snowden, has applied for Russian citizenship, lawyer Anatoly Kucherena has confirmed.

Mills has “lived in Russia for more than five years,” qualifying her to apply under Russian law, and is “undergoing the standard procedure for citizenship” Kucherena said.

The American national, a former acrobat and blogger, gained international attention in 2013 as Snowden’s partner.

That year, he leaked a vast trove of classified files revealing extensive surveillance activities by the US and British intelligence agencies. The leaks, first published by The Guardian and The Washington Post, prompted Snowden to flee the US.

After several rejections from other countries, the whistleblower fled to Moscow and spent a month stranded in an airport terminal before being granted asylum.

Mills joined Snowden in Moscow in October 2014, having left the US to live in exile. The couple married in 2017 and have two children, both of whom were born in Russia and received Russian citizenship at birth.

Snowden himself was granted Russian citizenship by presidential decree in September 2022.

After exposing US intelligence operations, his US passport was revoked, leaving him in legal limbo. Although still a US citizen, Snowden was unable to travel abroad. By obtaining Russian citizenship, he became immune to deportation, as Russian law forbids the extradition of its citizens to other countries.

Snowden has repeatedly expressed his desire to return to the US, and has said he would do so if guaranteed a fair trial.

In 2020, during his first term, President Donald Trump said he would “take a look” at pardoning the whistleblower, but left office in January 2021 without doing so.

In November, insiders told The New York Post that Snowden has some powerful supporters in Trump’s cabinet. President Donald Trump’s nominee for director of national intelligence, Republican Tulsi Gabbard, co-sponsored a resolution in September 2020 calling on the US to drop all charges against Snowden.

A person close to Gabbard told the newspaper that clemency for Snowden remained an important issue to her, and that she would likely push for that in Trump’s second term.

Another apparent Snowden backer is Robert F. Kennedy Jr, who Trump has nominated to serve as health secretary in his administration. While campaigning for president in May last year, he told the Libertarian National Convention that he would “pardon Edward Snowden” if elected.

Edward Snowden, former NSA contractor, who exposed U.S. unconstitutional, i.e. illegal      gov.'s spying and collecting data on US citizens.

Of 'horse, that was all kept hush-hush, but such collecting of citizens private data is against USA Supreme law, which guarantees law abiding US citizens won't be exposed to such and similar gov.'s action, i.e. collecting of meta data.

In 2013, he landed in Hong Kong, where he got adopted by one-and-only Vladimir Vladimiro-witch ras-Putin and moved to Russia. Lindsay Mills joined him soon afterwards ...

He was nick-named "Up-Yours!" by   someone    at this Board ... That was done just to trick the Internet bot, my friend-o told me ...

At the time of happening, I was contemplating between Nobel Peace Prize and Pulitzer ... for 'Up-Yours!'.

A: If you received an online degree in most cases it should have been from a reputable college. If it came from a degree mill that definitely would be a problem. You should not worry about how they will contact this place. If the degree is considered authentic the people will know where to go to inquire. In my case I needed a copy of my diploma and one company in China recommended a Clearinghouse that was able to verify my degrees. They did not provide copies of the diploma, though. If the place where you received this degree is acceptable in your country then, it should be acceptable in China.Another point to consider you stated it was an MS degree. I have not aware of any programs that allow students to hop from a high school education to a Masters degree level education. With that said maybe you received a Bachelors degree. If that is the case submit that information.  I would not encourage you to lie. In that you definitely will not have any paper trail to back up your story. Some companies do not accept TEFL online especially if it came from International Open Academy. That place is a one room office. I would consider that a TEFL mill. It was such a waste of time.Do you have the ability to do searches online? -- slspringer22
