It does say Sony so it can't be bad. It runs android 2.3.4. The newest version is 4.2, not sure how much difference that make. I'm using 2.1 and it's good.

Scandinavian:

if it cannot be upgraded to Android 4.x then don't get it. There is an increasing number of apps that will not run on older versions

My GF has a Sony Xperia something or other.  She bought it because it comes in hot pink...maybe you can find this one too.

A little sluggish compared to my iPhone 4S, but otherwise no problems with it, works ok for her.

Definitely gets mixed reviews. Some complaints about battery life & fit, complaints on build-quality (easily scratched), some said no front-facing camera, limited memory capacity (1gb).

But at less than 50% the cost of an iPhone 5 or SS Galaxy Note II, it could still be a pretty good choice.

when it comes to android phones do not get the chinese version, order it from hong kong.

china for some dumb reason does not allow the google play app
worthless without it

Xpat.John:

I agree with you on everything but Google Play.  You can go to the android store on the web and download applications from there straight to your phone.  I prefer the method actually because my old eyes find things easier to read on a 24" monitor vs. a 5.5" monitor.

xpat john, no you can not. i tried it with my gf's phone. you need to use the google play app on your phone to log in to google play, then you can use google play.com to add apps to your phone.
