Q: Youwell/Pumpkin International English. WTF?

WTF? This company is terrible to work for, all they care about is getting more money for their schools. Not a single person in the company has any teaching qualifications and you're treated like nothing more than a white monkey to be wheeled out and exhibited.

If you have experience with this company, please post here. I made a huge mistake working for them.

What did you expect from a company called: "You Well, Pumpkin?" It's like saying, "Hello, Kitty."

Sorry you are having a bad experience with these folks.

GuilinRaf:

A school called "Hello Kitty" would not make me think twice, since said feline is quite popular here among women and girls in China. However, yes, the name of this particular school would have given me pause.

On a similar vein, I knew this one teacher in Guilin, who gave out business cards because he taught on the side. His card identified  him as "Proffessor"  instead of "Professor". Interestingly enough, a lot of potential customers caught the mistake and would not hire him due to his mistake.

I agree, but I still don't think I would want to work at "Hello Kitty International School of English (HKISE)," lol. And I do feel bad for this fellow. Unfortunately, one has to be so, so careful, and then, in many circumstances, there is still no guarantee even after you have done your homework.

I don't have any first hand experience with this company, but I have read bad things about it on another forum.

yian:

What's the name of the other forum? I'd like to see if I can guess who it was by what they wrote.

This is not the first time someone has posted a question about Youwell pumpkin international. Next time do your research before signing a contract.

I worked for them too and had to fight every step of the way to get them to honour the contract. Which centre did you work in?

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
