Q: Any foreign ladies dating or had dated a local guy?
This question even applies to you ABC's, BBC's, etc. Seems like most of my foreign guy friends have a local gf and all my foreign female friends is single or has a foreign bf.

I tried dating a local guy once. But since neither of us were gay, it didn't work out. All of our dates were just prolonged awkward silences. He did offer to buy me an iPad though. That was nice of him.

Since I am chinese guy, I guess my perspective can be different from those come from other countries.
frist, the language and cultural gaps block lot of chinese guys from communicate with foreign girls, it is easy to make friends with local guys, but when it comes to a relationship or marriage, it takes great efford.
second, the tradtional chinese society poses great pressure to a serious relationship. It's hard to believe marrying a foreign girl to the chinese.
third, I guess the paradigms that have been mentioned above is a adverse choice. to those who stay together, either the foreign girl is interested in chinese culture and people, or the local guy received good education and understands the language and culture where the girl comes from well.
to the average people, it's very hard to believe a relationship between a local guy and a foreign girl, which is so different when it comes to a local girl & a foreign guy.

As a foreign girl who has dated a Chinese guy, being interested in Chinese culture an language, I have made a big effort to change my thinking and knowledge, but was met with rigid thinking. it is disappointing as there are many foreign women I have met who find overcoming this 'fire-wall' a barrier to many potential relationships
i did dated two local guys,, but it didnt work out.. firstly was the communication part (silence) most of the times, and then the rush to meet his parents.. lol.. i aint getting there, not yet..

i have seen many ladies dating local guys..maybe they wanted to learn language fast..
The only combination I've seen is tall, good-looking local guys with insane/fat/ugly (sometimes all three) expat women.
I know one quite hot NZ chick who had yellow fever. And I know a few other cute girls who are also taken by Asian looks, the same way that guys often are towards the girls here.
