For those who live in China for a long time - where exactly do you get your background check (non-criminal record), police or some government agency or where? I live in Shenzhen.

Man you are right on the money, don't see why they are down voting this.
ScotsAlan:
Ironman. I have no idea. Maybe they dont know 20th century history and have no interest in reading about it. Facts and recorded history dont seem to matter anymore.
BHGAL:
only has signifigance to those that continue to dwell on and live in, the past. OP and Scots, get over it.
see CCTV13 like some stupid/brilliant LAWYER searching hundreds of years of precedent setting law to continue some ludicrous 2017 case. 1933 is irrelevant to me, and so is 1833,1733 and 1492., and all inbetween.peter02:
A god damn number? A cross??? And based on that "information" you assume what you assume? How can you be so sure? Give me a break. You don't know anything about this user his avatar or numbers, it could mean anything and only he knows all about it. This number or the cross could mean whatever you can't just downvote or write up messages here with such irrelevant information because you FEEL it is what it is. So childish. Geez.
peter02:
oh btw is peter02 ok to you? i hope you don't think it's related to the WW2 or if you think it is please forgive me I'll be a good boy.
ScotsAlan:
Peter02. You are the second Peter to register here I guess. I cant see any info2 throught to info132 posts. Apologies to the OP if I am totally wrong. And I did ask why he-she choose that number.
Im going to bump this to the front page so Ironmsn can see it and answer.
Though search for the ABC topic part 2 as I think he mentioned this there.
From my understanding, there is a specific police station in each city where you need to go for it.
Yes, I know Part 2 and everything but he didn't mention where exactly he had done it. I don't think you can do it at any police station or maybe not police at all.
Also, if anyone did this in Shanghai please share the info.
Spiderboenz:
When I did mine a few years ago, I spent all day running around Nanjing, from police station to police station, trying to get it taken care of. Eventually I was directed to a special building that was able to take care of it.
It it was a police station.
ambivalentmace:
I had a ex colleague that went to Vietnam and he said he had to go to a "municipal police station", whatever that is.
I'm busy with my kids outside getting school related body checkups done, later I'll pm you the Chinese address of where to go to get this done because the admin won't allow us to post Chinese on here. It's near China Merchant Bank Tower area.
It's tricky because it's near 2 other police stations and one you can't even step foot into.
I suggest to use a taxi or friend
ironman510:
I sent you the address. No need to thank me, thank my 12 year old son, his ability to write Chinese and English comes in handy all the time. He typed the address for you by looking at the baidu maps.
Yeah thats right RandomGuy I'm talking to you and your uneducated point that kids can't be educated out here in China, it just take the right parents to make it work. I challenge you to a math test with my son!
adminanswer:
You can post Chinese if its relevant to the topic at hand, no problem. Sorry about any misunderstanding. As long as posts are not entirely in Chinese, I see no issue with using a small amount to help someone or provide useful information.
Interesting avatar and name.
1933. Enabling act.
The number 1933, Possible Goodwins on the OP.
The number 1933 is offensive to so many people.
Why is that your name, Mr OP?
Accident or design?
I said I would say if I downvote. Yeah, I downvote the OP.
Sorry. The cross, combined with 1933....nah
peter02:
I thought it was a joke at first - man get a life. So immature.

Ironman, thanks again fo your PM; now I wonder if anyone in Shanghai has done it? Please share.
ironman510:
No prob, but I must stress Shenzhen is your best chance for a local CBC to work as it's the only city to confirm it works.
info1933:
OK, I'm just thinking ahead for b4 SZ I was working in Shanghai so they may ask for that one as well. Or perhaps you're saying that you got this paper and they checked your background nationwide or just in Guandong or SZ?
My friend in Shanghai did it, I'll send you a PM with the address. I know it's a pain in the ass so good luck my friend.
info1933:
Got your PM and your comments on someone here - thanks and yes it is weird but funny :) Thanks again!
This post is rather helpful!!! thanks a lot ppl!
ironman510:
Here is the info you need, you'll be going to the same place I did it in June, yes they will accept, don't let any company tell you they won't because tons of long time Shenzhen guys like us made it work without any problem. As I said use a taxi or a friend because there are 3 police stations on that block, you'll know your at the right place when you walk in and see finger print scanners by each glass window.
Tips: bring your "tempory registration sheet" if it's old update it at the police station in your area where ever you live. That's key, must bring it. And your passport and make copys of the passport info page and your visa. 2 for each.
Address to use with App Baidu Maps or taxi: Cid 司法鉴定中心
