McCawley's in Shekou is quite good, but kinda far.

Shenzhen's a pain because the districts are so spread out - it really depends on where you live. Here's a short list for ya.

You could try making your own, it would certainly be healthier. If you can track down a patty  maker all you have to do is finely chop the meat or get it minced, then use the patty maker. If you can't find a patty maker, then use the Mk1 version (called hands, ), press firmly and try and make sure you remove as much fat and gristle before squeezing. Once all the excess fat is squeezed out you have yourself a burger!

i dont like burger  i just know KFC  :)

xinyuren:

There are no burgers in KFC.   Your understanding of a burger is not is not what he is refering to.  A true burger is beef.  Not chicken, not tofu, not anything else unless it is noted  (such as turkey burger or veggie burger)   Most Chinese people have never tasted a true hamburger.

Isn't there still Burger King in Shenzhen ?

ok, that might not make it a proper burger, but then surely there must be a place to buy minced beef and some lour and then make it from scratch

yep, there is a Burger King, somewhere in LuHuo,,,  I never went, but heard plenty of friends talk about and seen the billboard at the SZ-HK border crossing.

There are many good Western restaurants that serve burgers, just be prepared to pay a steep price. McCawleys is one and over around Book City in NanShan.

If you wanna make your own, the good ingredients are available through...

www.nogogo.com

not cheap though...  basically Western goods are never cheap on the Mainland...

Burger King. Failing that then make your own, just buy the mince from Carreforre and mix in the herbs you like, fry it up and put it in a bun. Failing that get yourself across the border and go to HK, even more choice there!

As much as I hated Wuhan, a restaurant there called Aloha had the best burger I had in all of China.

At Coco Park in Futian go to "The Kitchen".

Hands down the best top-notch gourmet western food in all of Shenzhen.  Pricey but worth it.  Everything from Filet Mignon to burgers.

The owner/chef is from San Fran.

The sports bar (formely Henry J Beans) at the Shangri-la at Lohu border used to do fantansic burgers haven't been for a while so check before you go, McCawleys in Futian and Shekou also do a good burger. There are several Burger Kings poping up across town there's a large outlet in Huaquiang Bei Lu opposite Nico dept store or another in Dongmen

Hope it helps
