Q: Delete WeChat Data? Will I lose my contacts or Moments?

Got no memory left on my phone cuz WeChar has eaten it up? Don't want to lose contacts/moments. Can I delete data without losing them? Cheers in advance for your help...

As far as I remember you will loose all chat history. Contacts are stored on WeChats server, so they will be re-downloaded. Moments will also be there, or be possible to download again.

When you clear the data you will be required to log in so you have to remember you username/password.

You can back up your chat history prior to clearing data, but when you restore it you are most likely back to square 1

Was it you Scan who said wechat was bloatware? I totally agree with you.

Yes it was. It is one of the worst apps I've ever had installed on my phone (have never had QQ) It's a good example of Chinese engineering. Features over quality. And then of course there is the privacy issues ....

I often delete my wechat for the same reason. You won't lose any contacts or memories as these are all stored on wechats servers. So go ahead and delete it, you'll be safe.
